I'm Alexis, a growth-obsessed, self-help junkie with the gift of gab. I love cooking, creating cozy spaces, and quality time with good people.
I started teaching in 2012,
determined to make positive lasting impact for students. By 2016, I had burned out twice and I was ready to make a change.
In 2018, I created The AfroEducator in the hopes that I could connect with other educators. I desired community and empathy and that's exactly what I got!
4 years later, I get to empower teacher communities to prioritize themselves & challenge unhealthy narratives.
Follow me for tips, tricks, and mindset shifts that empower you to show up more conscious, confident, and authentic in and out of the classroom
